Here at Quiltsmart, we believe the best gifts are of the handmade variety.  In a world that is so full of gadgets and disposable "stuff", there is something really special about receiving a gift that was made especially for you.  We've even noticed that children love handmade as much as the grown-ups do! :)


So, with Easter right around the corner, that got us thinking about quick, simple gift ideas that would easily fit in their baskets, but would also keep them entertained through dinner... Tall order, huh?

Luckily, we already had just the right pattern.  The Checkers Game Fun Pack comes with enough interfacing to make one Checkers board and 2 Tic-Tac-Toe boards.  For this inspiration, we decided to make the Tic-Tac-Toe boards.   They sew up very quickly and can be customized for the child.  It's easy enough to make a small bag or carrying case to use them on the go.  Keep them in the car for road trips, restaurants or family outings!  Game pieces can be made out of just about anything too.  For this example, we used bottle caps :)
