Jelly Rolls and the Quiltsmart Double Wedding Ring

Double Wedding Ring Quilt Block
Recently, a Quiltsmartie asked us about doing the Double Wedding Ring Quilt using Jelly Rolls, and I wanted to share the answer with all of you.  You see... the Double Wedding Ring pattern was created by Quiltsmart almost 20 years ago, long before the concept of using pre-cut fabrics or specifically, Jelly Rolls was around.

On our Double Wedding Ring pattern, you will see it calls for 3" strips, this is the recommended strip width to easily place your Double Wedding Ring pieced arc tool, and was the size of strip the pattern was written to work best with. However, as pre-cuts have gained popularity and have become a staple in sewing rooms everywhere, we here at Quiltsmart have started to take notice.  Mattie spent some time experimenting with the Double Wedding Ring pieced arc tool on Jelly Rolls, and this is what she came up with:

As you can see from the photos, you can indeed make the Quiltsmart Double Wedding Ring Quilt using Jelly Rolls :)  Mattie said to be mindful of your 1/4" seam allowances when creating the arc pieces, and you will do great!

Have you tried using a Jelly Roll or other pre-cut for the Double Wedding Ring?  We'd love to hear about your experience!
